Ben Duckworth (Director) and Howard Belt (Sales Executive) have grasped the challenge in both hands and are preparing to take up the challenge as we speak.
Ben is a born and bred Lincolnshire lad who was always destined to have Land Rover running through his veins. Both his grandfather James and father Martin were involved in the motor trade from an early age.
Ben joined Land Rover Uk directly from school and after completing his apprenticeship he then progressed to be a Project Engineer. In 2001 he joined the family business, where he worked his way through all the departments to get a true feel and overview of the business. Ben has now reached the position of Director.
Howard is also born and bred in Lincolnshire, whose father is one of the local Agricultural Dealers. Howard joined the Land Rover brand here at Duckworth Land Rover in 1997. Initially he joined the parts department and also gained some experience in the workshop. 2001 saw Howard's big move to the Sales Department, where he simply excels in his field. In 2007 he was in the top 20 Sales Executives in the Uk and due to his extreme product knowledge he is also leading Accessory Sales Executive in 2007.
Both Ben and Howard will be putting their off-road driving capabilities to the test when they tackle the extremes and exhilarations of the North African terrain.
The courageous duo are set to leave the Market Rasen dealership on Friday 12th October, in their Tangiers Orange Discovery V8 HSE. (a rather apt colour for this event I thought). The fully equipped Discovery will be driven to Dover to catch the Ferry to Calais. Then driving to Southern France and on to Southern Spain. ( I worry they will be shattered before they start the rally!). The real excitement will kick in on the 17th October when the event begins.....let battle commence!
